April is designated as Highway Safety Month under a proclamation made by Governor Ralph Northam. He is directing his Executive Leadership Team on Highway Safety to highlight the importance of seat belt use in saving lives. Last year more than 340 people died in crashes where seat belts were not in use – and that’s with lower amounts of traffic due to COVID-19. It’s also more deaths than there were in 2019.
