The Mathews County Board of Supervisors will try again today to pass the fiscal year 2022 budget when they meet in a special session at 6:00 p.m. in the Harry M. Ward Auditorium. According to the Gazette-Journal the board deadlocked when voting on the spending proposal last month because of a supervisor wanting to discuss a new Sheriff’s Office radio system before signing off on the budget plus the absence of another supervisor. The budget keeps tax rates the same.
