The summer of 2021 will be a little different in Montross now that Stan’s Dairy Freeze closed its doors on April 30 after 52 years. According to Northern Neck News owner Stan Schoppe sold the building and business on Kings Highway to Miguel Lopez who with his wife owns and operates the Mexican restaurant Los Portales. It’s not clear what will open at the Dairy Freeze site but the Lopezes have asked for all of the Dairy Freeze employees to be part of the new business, whatever it may be.
