Gloucester Company To Survey Gwynn’s Island’s Buildings

A Gloucester firm will be performing an architectural survey of all buildings on Gwynn’s Island as the first step in having the island designated as a historic district. The Gazette-Journal reports Data Investigations is the contractor chosen by the Virginia Department of Historic Resources. Preservation Mathews is holding the first public meeting on the project at 7:00 p.m. on Thursday at the Gwynn’s Island Civic League. The meeting will be recorded and posted online for those who can’t attend.
