Northam Lays Out COVID-19 Funding Plans

Governor Ralph Northam lays out his proposal for spending the estimated $4.3 billion in federal funds the commonwealth will get from the American Rescue Plan Act of 2021. The biggest chunk – $250 million – would go towards the Rebuild VA economic fund with $50 million invested in tourism and over $50 million for among Virginia’s small businesses and industries which were devastated by COVID-19. The General Assembly will oversee the allocation of these funds during the special session which begins early next month.
