TV business channel CNBC names Virginia as America’s “Top State for Business” in 2021. The commonwealth topped the list derived from a study of 85 distinct metrics across 10 competitiveness categories including education, workforce and commitment to equity and inclusion. It’s the second year in a row that Virginia came in number one and the only state to win back-to-back titles in CNBC’s ranking. The commonwealth has won the award a total of 6 times.
