The Lancaster County Sheriff’s Office is warning about a new scam where a recipient receives a package from a San Francisco return address with checks inside. The instructions say the recipient is now a “secret shopper” and is to cash the checks then use the money to buy gift cards and then e-mail the numbers to the scammer. The Sheriff’s Office says do not cash the checks or make any other inquiries.
