The Lancaster County Broadband Authority met recently to answer questions and provide a status of ongoing projects and providers including the fixednd providers including the fixed wireless service offered by Broadband Telecom Services (BTS); the Breezeline regional project with Caroline, Mathews and Middlesex counties; and the All Points Broadband (APB) and Dominion Energy regional project with Northumberland, Richmond, Westmoreland and King George counties. The Rappahannock Record reports, according to Kiser, the BTS wireless service currently serves 300 households in the county. The recently completed Breezeline project will soon serve another 200 customers and the APB project would serve roughly 2,100 unserved households when completed in mid-2024. She added there are approximately 80 unserved households, 70 of which were supposed to be served by Starry, which defaulted on its Rural Digital Opportunity Fund (RDOF) after filing Chapter 11 bankruptcy.
