Northumberland Sets Sights On Rep For District 5

The Northumberland board of supervisors has until September 19th to appoint a representative for District 5 to complete the unexpired term of the late supervisor Ronnie Jett. The Rappahannock Record reports a suggestion came up at a recent specially called meeting to select someone to fill the seat ahead of the November election. According to the county attorney, board members they have 45 days following the day of Jett’s passing to fill the position, meaning the board has until September 19 to determine a representative for District 5.
