VDH Okays Bivalent Booster For Kids

Children in Virginia who are five and older can now get the bivalent COVID-19 booster vaccine. The Virginia Department of Health announced the availability following the CDC’s recommendation on booster vaccines for children. The boosters target the BA.4 and BA.5 subvariants of the Omicron variant, as well as the original strain of COVID-19 that emerged in late 2019. The DOH advises parents to discuss the booster with their child’s primary pediatrician and healthcare provider.
