Walgreens is offering COVID vaccinations starting this week in Virginia. Appointments opened Tuesday and filled up quickly. Officials say residents should keep checking appointment availability on the Walgreens website. The company has also announced plans to hold vaccination clinics in under-served communities. Lancaster SB Approves Draft Budget

The Lancaster school board has endorsed a draft budget and capital improvement plan for 2022. The $17,136,727 budget is an increase of 1.11% from last year. Acccording to the Rappahannock Record the general school fund is expected to total $16,502,516, with instruction up 1.5%.

New Skate Park At Cooks Corner

A concrete slab left over from the old Rappahannock Central Elementary School may soon become a skate park. The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors has approved a request from Middlesex Christian Skaters Skateboarding Club to turn the slab over by the Middlesex County Animal Shelter at Cooks Corner into a skate park.

Starting Salaries Increase For MCSO Deputies’

The Middlesex County Board of Supervisors has approved increasing the starting salary of MCSO deputies’. The new salaries match the current Mathews County starting pay, with a cap of $50,000 per year. Middlesex County deputies starting pay has been at $34,181 annually.
