A Reports $730M Extra In Tax Revenue Due To Holidays

Virginia’s economy is doing better than expected. Governor Ralph Northam says they found a windfall of 730-million-dollars in tax revenue from the holidays. This comes after lawmakers revised the budget. Northam says the new numbers show that the state economy continues to thrive in spite of the pandemic.

Cooks Corner Crackdown

The Middlesex County Sheriff’s Office is reminding drivers to watch their speed. Responding to numerous complaints, radar enforcement has been set in commercial areas near Cooks Corner. A motorist ran through area radar at 100 mph, resulting in a police chase that ended with a crash. The speed limit through the area is 45 mph.
